Vehicle: 2023 Acura Integra A-Spec Tech

Hey everyone,

I recently purchased a 2023 Acura Integra A-Spec Tech, and I'm generally loving the car. However, I've been getting a recurring "ADAS System Malfunction" warning on my dash. It pops up randomly, sometimes when I'm driving on a clear, sunny day with no obstructions, and other times in light rain.

When this warning appears, features like Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and sometimes even the Collision Mitigation Braking System become unavailable. It usually clears itself after I turn the car off and on again, but it's happening frequently enough to be concerning. The car only has about 8,000 miles on it.

Is this a known bug or sensitivity issue with the ADAS suite in the new Integra? Could it be a faulty sensor, or just a software glitch that needs an update? I've checked the front camera area and radar sensor for dirt or debris, and it's always clean. Any insights before I take it to the dealer?

It's concerning to experience an "ADAS System Malfunction" warning on a brand-new vehicle like your 2023 Acura Integra A-Spec Tech, especially when the conditions seem clear. This issue, while frustrating, can stem from several sources in modern Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS).

Here are the most common causes for such warnings:

  1. Software Glitches: As a relatively new model, the 2023 Integra's ADAS system might still have some software bugs that cause intermittent false alarms. Acura often releases software updates to refine these systems. These updates can address sensitivities or communication errors between modules.
  2. Sensor Calibration Issues: The front radar sensor (behind the Acura emblem) and the windshield-mounted camera are critical for ADAS functions. If either of these sensors is slightly misaligned, even from the factory or a minor bump, it can lead to inaccurate readings and trigger malfunction warnings. This is particularly true for features like Lane Keep Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control.
  3. Environmental Factors (Even Minor): While you mentioned clear conditions, sometimes even subtle factors like low sun glare, heavy fog, or very light road spray can temporarily impede sensor visibility and trigger a warning. However, if it's happening frequently in ideal conditions, it points to another issue.
  4. Faulty Sensor/Wiring: Less common in new vehicles, but a defective radar unit, camera module, or a loose electrical connection to one of these components could cause intermittent failures.

What You Can Do (Limited):

  • Check for Recalls/TSBs: While you can't perform the fix, you can check Acura's website or ask your dealer if there are any active recalls or Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) specifically addressing ADAS malfunctions for your 2023 Integra VIN.

When to See a Shop:

  • Immediately: Since your vehicle is under warranty and this is a safety-related system, you should schedule an appointment with your Acura dealership as soon as possible. They have specialized diagnostic tools to read specific error codes (e.g., U0300, C1234, B1234 related to sensor communication or failure) that are stored in the ADAS control module.
  • Request a Software Update: Ask them to check for and install any available software updates for the ADAS system and related control units.
  • Sensor Calibration: If no software updates resolve the issue, the dealer will likely need to perform a precise calibration of the front radar and camera sensors using specialized equipment. This ensures they are accurately aligned with the vehicle's geometry.

Do not attempt to modify or repair ADAS components yourself, as this can severely impact safety systems.
