Vehicle: 2024 Acura Integra A-Spec

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a new 2024 Acura Integra A-Spec, and I'm loving it so far, but there's one incredibly annoying issue: a persistent rattle coming from the dashboard area. It sounds like it's coming from somewhere near the passenger side or center console, especially noticeable on slightly rough roads or when going over bumps.

It's a brand new car, and this rattle is really detracting from the premium feel. Has anyone else with the new Integra experienced this? Any ideas on common rattle points or how to pinpoint it? I'd rather try to fix it myself if it's simple before taking it to the dealer.

  1. New Car Rattles: It's unfortunate but not uncommon for new vehicles, even premium ones like the 2024 Acura Integra, to develop interior rattles. These often stem from loose clips, wiring harnesses, or slight misalignments of trim pieces that become apparent with vehicle vibration.

  2. Common Rattle Locations: For dashboard rattles, common culprits include:

    • A-Pillar Trim: The plastic trim along the windshield pillars.
    • Center Console/Infotainment Surround: Loose clips or wiring behind the screen or climate controls.
    • Glove Box: Contents or the door itself.
    • Speaker Grilles: Especially on the dashboard.
    • Loose Wires: Unsecured wiring harnesses behind the dash.
    • HVAC Vents: Internal components or the vent assembly itself.
  3. DIY Troubleshooting: To pinpoint the rattle, try having a passenger help you while driving. Gently press on different parts of the dash, A-pillars, and center console to see if the rattle stops or changes. You can also try removing items from the glove box or center console to rule out loose objects. Sometimes, a small piece of felt tape or foam can resolve the issue once the source is found.

  4. When to See a Shop: If you can't locate or easily fix the rattle yourself, it's best to take your 2024 Integra to an Acura dealership. Since it's a new vehicle, this issue should be covered under warranty. Dealership technicians have experience with these types of complaints and specialized tools to safely remove trim pieces without causing damage. They can systematically check for loose components, apply sound-deadening material, or secure wiring harnesses.

  5. Documentation: When you take it to the dealer, be as specific as possible about when and where the rattle occurs (e.g., 'passenger side dash, over bumps, at speeds between 20-40 mph'). This will greatly assist the technician in diagnosing and resolving the issue efficiently.
