Hey everyone, I'm hoping someone can shed some light on an issue I'm having with my 2017 Acura NSX. Lately, I've noticed a significant drop in power, especially when accelerating from a stop. The car feels sluggish, and the Sport Hybrid SH-AWD system doesn't seem to be engaging properly.

On top of that, I've got a "Check Hybrid System" warning light on my dash. I'm worried about potential battery degradation or something more serious. Has anyone else experienced this with their earlier model NSX?

The car has about 35,000 miles on it, and I've kept up with all the scheduled maintenance. Any advice on what this could be or what steps I should take before heading to the dealership?

Summary: For 2017 NSX Hybrid System Warning Light & Reduced Power, work through these steps on your 2016+ vehicle:

  1. Confirm the symptom — note when it happens (cold start, highway, after fuel fill, etc.).
  2. Scan codes — save all pending/stored DTCs; don't clear until you've recorded them.
  3. Check TSBs & recalls — look up your VIN for open campaigns and known fixes.
  4. Inspect the obvious — related fuses, connectors, fluid level, and recent repairs.
  5. Test the common fix — follow model-specific service procedures; one change at a time.
  6. Escalate if needed — burning smell, no brakes, overheating, or stalling in traffic → shop visit.
