Vehicle: 2018 BMW 540i (G30)
Hi all,
I own a 2018 BMW 540i (G30) with the ZF 8-speed transmission, and I'm approaching 70,000 miles. I've heard conflicting information about transmission fluid changes. BMW says it's 'lifetime,' but many independent shops and enthusiasts recommend changing it around this mileage.
Lately, I've noticed what feels like very subtle hesitation during shifts, especially when cold, but nothing major. Could this be related to the fluid? What's the general consensus here? Is it worth doing, or should I just leave it alone as BMW suggests?
If I do decide to change it, is it a DIY job, or something best left to a specialist? Thanks for the input!
