2019 340i B58 Oil Leak & Check Engine Light - VANOS Issue?

Hey everyone,

I've got a 2019 BMW 340i (G20) with the B58 engine, just hit around 55k miles. Lately, I've been noticing a faint oil smell, especially after driving, and a small drip on my garage floor. Nothing major, but it's there.

This morning, the check engine light came on, and the car felt a bit rough at idle, almost like a slight stumble. I pulled the codes with my OBD scanner, and I'm seeing P0012 and P0015, which point to VANOS timing over-retarded. Could this be related to the oil leak? I'm worried about potential engine damage.

Has anyone experienced this combination of issues on their B58? What should I be looking for? Is this a common problem for this model year and engine?
