2017 CT6 3.0TT - Annoying Turbo Lag and Hesitation

Hey everyone,

I've got a 2017 Cadillac CT6 Platinum with the 3.0L Twin Turbo engine, and lately, I've been experiencing some really frustrating turbo lag and hesitation. It's most noticeable when I'm pulling away from a stop sign or trying to accelerate from a low speed, like after turning a corner.

There's a definite delay before the power kicks in, and sometimes it feels like the car just bogs down for a second or two before finally getting going. It's not consistent, but it happens often enough to be a real nuisance and sometimes even a safety concern when merging into traffic.

Has anyone else with this engine or a similar Cadillac model experienced this? I'm wondering if it's a common issue or if there's something specific I should be looking into. No check engine light yet, but the performance just isn't what it used to be. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

  1. Confirm the symptom — note when it happens (cold start, highway, after fuel fill, etc.).

  3. Check TSBs & recalls — look up your VIN for open campaigns and known fixes.
  4. Inspect the obvious — related fuses, connectors, fluid level, and recent repairs.

  6. Escalate if needed — burning smell, no brakes, overheating, or stalling in traffic → shop visit.
