Hey everyone,
I'm experiencing some really frustrating issues with the 8-speed automatic transmission in my 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT, equipped with the 5.3L V8. The truck has about 75,000 miles on it.
Specifically, I'm getting a noticeable shudder, almost like driving over rumble strips, especially when accelerating gently between 40-70 mph. It's intermittent but becoming more frequent. Also, the shifts, particularly from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd, can be quite harsh and clunky, sometimes with a delay in engagement.
I've heard about issues with these transmissions. Has anyone else dealt with this? What was your fix? Is there a known TSB or recall for this problem? I'm trying to figure out if this is a common reliability issue or something unique to my truck before I take it to the dealer.
