Vehicle: 2021 Chevrolet Equinox LT
Hi all,
I've got a 2021 Chevrolet Equinox LT with the 1.5L turbo engine, and it's got about 52,000 miles on it. For the past few weeks, I've been hearing a distinct squealing noise coming from the engine bay, especially noticeable on cold starts or when it's damp outside. It usually goes away after a few minutes of driving, but it's getting more frequent.
I'm suspecting it might be the serpentine belt, as I haven't had it replaced yet. Is 52k miles a typical mileage for a serpentine belt to start showing wear on these Equinox models? What should I look for to confirm it's the belt, and is this a straightforward DIY replacement, or should I just take it to the dealer?
