Hey everyone,

I'm having an issue with my 2018 Ford Explorer Limited and hoping someone here has experienced something similar. Recently, both my ABS light and Traction Control light have come on simultaneously on the dashboard. They usually appear shortly after I start driving.

What's even stranger is that sometimes, when these lights are on, my speedometer will act erratically, occasionally dropping to zero for a few seconds before jumping back up. The braking feels normal, but it's unsettling to have these warnings.

I haven't done any recent work on the brakes or suspension. Could this be a simple sensor issue, or something more serious? Any advice on what to check first would be greatly appreciated!

  3. Check TSBs & recalls — look up your VIN for open campaigns and known fixes.
  4. Inspect the obvious — related fuses, connectors, fluid level, and recent repairs.
  5. Test the common fix — follow model-specific service procedures; one change at a time.
  6. Escalate if needed — burning smell, no brakes, overheating, or stalling in traffic → shop visit.
