Hey everyone,
I've got a 2018 Ford F-150 Lariat with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine and the 10-speed automatic transmission. I'm approaching 75,000 miles and I'm wondering about the transmission fluid. The owner's manual seems a bit vague on the exact interval for a fluid change, especially for 'normal' driving conditions.
Lately, I've noticed a very slight shudder when shifting into higher gears, particularly when the truck is cold. It's not severe, but it's enough to make me think about preventative maintenance. Is this a common symptom for these transmissions, and could it be related to the fluid?
What are your recommendations for a transmission fluid change? Is it something a competent DIYer can tackle, or is it best left to the dealership or a specialist shop? Any specific fluid types or procedures I should be aware of? Thanks for any advice!
