Vehicle: 2020 Genesis G70 3.3T
My 2020 Genesis G70 3.3T just threw a Check Engine Light this morning. I hooked up my OBD-II scanner, and it's showing a P0420 code: "Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)". The car seems to be driving fine, no noticeable loss of power or strange noises.
I've heard this can sometimes be a faulty O2 sensor rather than the converter itself. Is there a way to diagnose this without just replacing parts? I'm hoping it's not the catalytic converter, as that's usually an expensive fix.
Any advice on what I should check first? I'm located in Texas, and the car has about 65,000 miles on it.
