Hey everyone, I recently had the front brake pads and rotors replaced on my 2019 Honda CR-V EX-L about a month ago. Ever since, I've been getting a high-pitched squeal, especially when coming to a stop at lower speeds. It's really annoying and I'm worried something wasn't done right.

The shop said they used good quality aftermarket parts. The squeal wasn't there before the replacement. It's more noticeable in the mornings or after the car has been sitting for a while.

Is this normal break-in noise, or should I be concerned? What could be causing this persistent squeal? Any advice would be great!

Summary: For 2019 CR-V Brakes Squealing After Pad Replacement, work through these steps on your 2016+ vehicle:

  1. Confirm the symptom — note when it happens (cold start, highway, after fuel fill, etc.).
  2. Scan codes — save all pending/stored DTCs; don't clear until you've recorded them.
  3. Check TSBs & recalls — look up your VIN for open campaigns and known fixes.
  4. Inspect the obvious — related fuses, connectors, fluid level, and recent repairs.
  5. Test the common fix — follow model-specific service procedures; one change at a time.
  6. Escalate if needed — burning smell, no brakes, overheating, or stalling in traffic → shop visit.
