Vehicle: 2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport HSE Lux
Hey fellow Land Rover owners,
I'm having a serious issue with my 2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport HSE Lux. A few days ago, while driving on the highway, I got a 'Transmission Fault' message on the dash, and the car immediately went into limp mode. It felt like it was stuck in a high gear and wouldn't shift properly. I pulled over, turned it off and on, and the fault cleared temporarily, but it came back.
I scanned it with my OBD-II reader and got a generic P0700 code, which points to a transmission control system malfunction. I'm really worried this could be a major transmission failure. Has anyone experienced this with their Discovery Sport? What are the common causes for a P0700 and limp mode in these vehicles? Could it be something simpler than a full transmission replacement?
Any guidance would be helpful!
