My 2018 Ram 1500 Laramie, 5.7L Hemi, just hit 80,000 miles. I've noticed a slight hesitation sometimes when shifting, especially from 2nd to 3rd. The owner's manual says "inspect" but doesn't give a hard change interval for the transmission fluid like older trucks did.
I'm wondering if it's time to get the transmission fluid and filter changed. Is this something a competent DIYer can tackle, or is it best left to the dealership given the 8-speed ZF transmission? What fluid type should I be looking for?
