2018 Ram 1500 Brakes Pulsating - Rotors or Calipers?

Hey everyone,

I've got a 2018 Ram 1500 Laramie with about 75,000 miles on it, and lately, the brakes have been feeling really weird. When I apply them, especially at highway speeds, I get a noticeable pulsation through the pedal. It's not a violent shake, but it's definitely there and getting worse.

I had the front pads and rotors replaced about 20,000 miles ago, but the rears are still original. Could this be warped rotors again, or maybe a sticky caliper? I've heard some Rams can have issues with their calipers seizing up. Any thoughts or common issues I should look into before I take it to a shop?

Thanks for any help!

Summary: For 2018 Ram 1500 Brakes Pulsating - Rotors or Calipers?, work through these steps on your 2015+ vehicle:

  1. Confirm the symptom — note when it happens (cold start, highway, after fuel fill, etc.).
  2. Scan codes — save all pending/stored DTCs; don't clear until you've recorded them.
  3. Check TSBs & recalls — look up your VIN for open campaigns and known fixes.
  4. Inspect the obvious — related fuses, connectors, fluid level, and recent repairs.
  5. Test the common fix — follow model-specific service procedures; one change at a time.
  6. Escalate if needed — burning smell, no brakes, overheating, or stalling in traffic → shop visit.
