My 2018 Subaru Forester 2.5i Premium, with about 75,000 miles, has started acting weird. When I'm driving at low speeds, especially in stop-and-go traffic, the transmission feels like it's hesitating or even jerking a bit. It's not a smooth acceleration from a stop anymore.
Sometimes it feels like it's struggling to find the right 'gear' even though it's a CVT. It's particularly noticeable when I'm trying to gently accelerate after slowing down, like in a parking lot or a drive-thru.
I'm worried about the long-term reliability of the CVT. Is this a known issue for this model year Forester? What should I be looking out for, or is this something that needs immediate attention from a mechanic?
