Hey everyone, I have a 2017 Subaru Outback 2.5i with about 90,000 miles on it. I've been noticing a slight shudder when accelerating from a stop, especially when the engine is cold. I'm wondering if it's time to change the CVT fluid.
The owner's manual says it's 'lifetime' fluid, but I've heard that's not always the case, especially with higher mileage. I tow a small trailer occasionally and live in a hilly area, so my transmission probably works harder than average.
Has anyone done a CVT fluid change on their 2017 Outback? What was your experience? Is this something a competent DIYer can tackle, or is it best left to the dealership? Any specific fluid recommendations or tools needed?
