2019 Model 3 Long Range charging slowly or not latching at Supercharger

Hey everyone, I'm having a persistent issue with my 2019 Tesla Model 3 Long Range. Lately, when I try to Supercharge, it either charges incredibly slowly (like 30 kW when it should be much higher) or sometimes the charging cable won't even latch properly into the port.

I've tried different Supercharger stalls and even a different cable at home, but the problem persists. It's really frustrating when I'm on a road trip and can't get a decent charge. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a known issue with the charging port itself or something else entirely?

I've checked for debris in the port, and it looks clean. Software is up to date. Any advice before I schedule a service appointment would be greatly appreciated!

Summary: For 2019 Model 3 Long Range charging slowly or not latching at Supercharger, work through these steps on your 2016+ vehicle:

  1. Confirm the symptom — note when it happens (cold start, highway, after fuel fill, etc.).
  2. Scan codes — save all pending/stored DTCs; don't clear until you've recorded them.
  3. Check TSBs & recalls — look up your VIN for open campaigns and known fixes.
  4. Inspect the obvious — related fuses, connectors, fluid level, and recent repairs.
  5. Test the common fix — follow model-specific service procedures; one change at a time.
  6. Escalate if needed — burning smell, no brakes, overheating, or stalling in traffic → shop visit.
