Hey everyone,
I've been experiencing a really concerning issue with my 2020 Tesla Model 3 Long Range lately. Over the past week, I've noticed a distinct whining noise coming from what sounds like the rear of the car, especially noticeable during acceleration and deceleration. It's not constant, but it's definitely getting more frequent.
Yesterday, things got worse. While driving on the highway, I suddenly felt a significant reduction in power. The car wouldn't accelerate as quickly, and I got a 'Reduced Performance' alert on the screen, though no specific error code was displayed. I pulled over, restarted the car, and the alert went away, but the whining noise persists, and I'm hesitant to drive it much.
Has anyone else encountered this with their Model 3? Could this be a drive unit issue or something else related to the drivetrain? I'm trying to figure out if this is something I can troubleshoot or if it's an immediate service center visit.
