Vehicle: 2021 Tesla Model Y Long Range
Hey everyone,
I'm experiencing a concerning issue with my 2021 Tesla Model Y Long Range. Yesterday, while driving on the highway, I suddenly got a 'Vehicle Limiting Performance' warning message on the screen. Almost immediately, I felt a significant reduction in power, like the car went into a limp mode. It was quite alarming.
I managed to pull over safely. I tried a soft reset (holding the scroll wheels), and the warning cleared for a bit, but it came back after about 10 minutes of driving, along with the power limitation. There wasn't any specific OBD-II code I could pull with my generic scanner, probably because Tesla uses its own diagnostics.
Has anyone else with a 2021 Model Y, or any recent Tesla model, encountered this? What was the cause, and how was it resolved? I'm worried about driving it, especially with the power reduction.
