Vehicle: 2018 Toyota Camry SE
Hey everyone,
I've got a 2018 Toyota Camry SE with about 75,000 miles on it, and I've been noticing some concerning transmission behavior lately. When the car is cold, especially in the mornings, it feels like it hesitates to shift from 1st to 2nd gear, and sometimes from 2nd to 3rd. It's not a smooth transition, more like a noticeable jerk or clunk.
After driving for a bit, it seems to smooth out, but the initial rough shifts are really bothering me. I've heard some chatter online about the 8-speed automatic in these Camrys having issues. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this something that needs immediate attention, or is it a known characteristic that might be covered by a TSB?
I'm wondering if it's a fluid issue, a software problem, or something more serious. Any advice on what I should check or mention to the dealership would be greatly appreciated before I take it in.
