My 2018 VW Jetta SE has been having a strange issue lately. If I leave it parked for more than 12-18 hours, the battery is completely dead. I've had the battery tested, and it's good. The alternator also checks out fine.

It's really frustrating, especially since it's a relatively new car. I've checked for lights left on, but everything seems off. Could this be a parasitic draw? What should I look for?

  1. Confirm the symptom — note when it happens (cold start, highway, after fuel fill, etc.).

  3. Check TSBs & recalls — look up your VIN for open campaigns and known fixes.
  4. Inspect the obvious — related fuses, connectors, fluid level, and recent repairs.
