Vehicle: 2016 Volkswagen Passat 1.8T S
I'm having some serious transmission problems with my 2016 Volkswagen Passat 1.8T S. Lately, the automatic transmission has been shifting really harshly, especially from 1st to 2nd gear, and sometimes from 2nd to 3rd. It feels like a jolt or a hard thud.
Occasionally, there's also a noticeable hesitation before it engages a gear, almost like it's slipping for a second or two before catching. I haven't seen any warning lights on the dash yet, but this is definitely not normal. The car has about 85,000 miles on it.
Is this a common issue with the Passat's automatic transmission? What could be causing these symptoms? I'm worried about a costly transmission repair.
